Tarps are used in different settings and industries.
In the agricultural industry, for example, tarps are used as covers for
livestock shelter or grain bunkers. Tarps are also used in the industrial
sector as wall dividers or to cover objects while in storage. In trucking and
logistics, tarps are employed to cover the items being transported while on the
highway. One of the most essential uses of tarps is to cover
truck beds and the items on them. Truck tarps are used to cover the load on the
truck, thus shielding it from sun, rain, or snow. Moreover, these tarps help to
secure the cargo and keep them from falling off the truck bed. Though there are
box trucks or box vans available, there are certain objects that only flatbed
trucks can carry (e.g., lumber, construction materials, etc.) And when it is
about protecting the load on a flatbed truck, truckers usually depend on a
high-quality truck tarp. The truck tarps are categorized into three types.
Lumber Tarps
Lumber tarps are used by truckers that transport
lumber, just as the name suggests. Lumber tarps are fabricated of heavy-duty
material like Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC) or Polyethylene (PE). These tarps
protect the lumber from outdoor elements during transport; however, they can
also be used for massive and high-rising loads and cargo that requires plenty
of overhangs.
Steel Tarps
Steel tarps are precisely made to cover steel
objects like pipes, sheets, cables, and others. Their structure and the
waterproof materials used in making the steel tarp should offer brilliant
performance when it comes to keeping the cargo dry and free from corrosion and
rust. Most tarps employed in hay sheds and temporary warehousing also have
waterproof properties as it is a requirement in keeping the bales of hay dry.
Mesh Tarps
Mesh tarps are one of the most commonly used truck
tarps. These heavy-duty mesh tarps and are usually seen on dump trucks and dump
truck trailers. The truck tarp supplier provides these three
types of good quality to make the journey of a truck carrying cargo convenient
and safer.
